Remember the BC Prosperity Fund? Established by Christy Clark in 2013 it was to grow to over $100 billion from LNG revenues and be used to, for example, eliminate the provincial debt and reduce taxes. Now Pierre Pollievre suggests LNG Canada could be replicated 20 times and that income could “totally eliminate poverty in the First Nations communities and make them the most prosperous communities in the whole country”. All it takes is a bill that would streamline natural resource projects.

Methane Emissions
Methane emissions have been increasing steadily since the start of the industrial age. Atmospheric levels of methane are now 2.5 times pre-industrial levels. The current rate of methane emissions would see global temperatures increase by 4.3 °C by 2100 (Jackson et al. 2020).
Methane's Impact on Global Warming
Methane traps over 80 times more heat than carbon dioxide over 20 years and about 30 times more over 100 years. Not good news over time scales that matter. Ironically it’s not all bad news.
